That exercise routine you have been wanting to be so consistent at but you haven’t been successful or the book you were reading but because of a busy schedule you could not read it. What if I told you that consistency can be built in an easy way!

There are many ways you can achieve consistency. If you go over the internet you will find tons of articles for the same. But I want to talk about one small change that you can implement right away which is effortless.

There was a time when I found it difficult to consistently practice dance everyday or every week. I realized I was setting up really high goals for myself on a daily basis which was unnecessarily putting too much pressure on me.

Lately, I have been practicing the model of dancing at least for 5 mins or learning 10 seconds long choreography daily instead of a long one. Earlier I would put too much on a single day to complete a long choreography or by learning it in one shot but now by breaking it into really small goals I am able to achieve more on a daily basis and the best part is it feels easy. It is more fun and you are always making progress!

When we think of doing something we set really big goals for ourselves and lose motivation by not being able to achieve them. We feel it’s hard.

If today you don’t feel like exercising for 30 mins, most of us would end up not doing it. But hey, you have an option to do it just for 5 mins which is easy!

If you don’t feel like reading that book, do it just for 2 mins or just read a page. If you do this for a considerable time, you will build consistency because doing anything for 5 mins is easy. It does not take effort.

We underestimate the power of small actions and the compounding effect it has when repeated over a long period of time. Progress is better than not doing something at all.
